I am a first year graduate student from Tokyo, Japan. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Philosophy from Tufts University and a Master's Degree in Biology and Nutrition from the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science. My current research examines how foot-strike pattern changes the way rotational loading is accommodated through the tibia and knee during running, and what that means for running-related injury. I am also interested in the gut microbiome and how it shapes endurance performance and health. My interest in these questions comes partly from running marathons, which I travel around the world to do whenever I can.
